Dr. Naras Bhat is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Obesity Medicine (weight loss science), Sleep Medicine, Metabolic Cardiology, Allergy, and Immunology. Dr. Bhat is well-trained to detect and treat the risk of overweight-obese conditions that might go undetected in non-medical weight loss programs.
Born in India and educated in the West, Dr. Bhat connects Eastern disciplines with Western high-tech medicine. Using his unique educational perspective, Dr. Bhat has been a Professor of Mind-Body Medicine at Saybrook University, San Francisco, and currently teaches at the University of California, Berkeley.
He is the author of the internationally renowned books: How to Reverse and Prevent Heart Disease and Cancer; Reversing Stress and Burnout. He also wrote a coursebook for his U.C. Berkeley students, Unlearning Test Anxiety and Stress, and produced two popular videos, Uprooting Anger and Meditation Prescription.
In 2002, Dr. Bhat was president of The Biofeedback Society of California and a Board Member of the Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback.
