Dr. Gerald Austin, a distinguished podiatrist, has been a Bay Area resident since 1996. He embarked on his graduate education at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Spanish. During his time at the university, Dr. Austin contributed to neuroscience research, resulting in a publication in the Journal of Developmental Biology.

As a graduate student, Dr. Austin continued his research, studying melatonin administration in diabetic rats. He was awarded his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine with honors and pursued post-graduate education at the Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center, where he completed a one-year residency in primary podiatric medicine. He then returned to the Bay Area to complete his Podiatric Surgical Residency Training at Kaiser Santa Clara, where he honed his skills in surgical podiatry. Dr. Austin’s particular interests include working with children to correct club foot deformity, diabetic foot care, and foot and ankle trauma.
