Circadian Sleep Disorders

There are six circadian sleep disorders in total. Four of those are Chronic and two are Transient.

Chronic Sleep Disorders:

Chronic sleep disorders are due to internal “wiring” in the brain.

  1. delayed sleep-phase
  2. non-24-hour
  3. advanced sleep-phase
  4. irregular

Transient Sleep Disorders:

Transient sleep results from external changes in schedule.

  1. shift work disorder
  2. jet lag
