Peanut Allergy. No Cure Yet. An essential new treatment is approved.

The FDA has approved Palforzia, the first FDA approved treatment for patients who suffer from peanut anaphylaxis. Peanut allergic patients are given a capsule with peanut powder. The dose gradually increasing over time. Eventually a level of peanut tolerance is reached so that if there’s an accidental exposure, it will not trigger a severe allergic reaction. This brings hope to many families and patients who suffer from life threatening peanut allergy. We expect the drug to be available by the end of 2019 or early 2020.
